No two relationship resolutions are the same.

That’s why at Emerald Law, we offer an initial fixed fee meeting so you can properly weigh up all the alternatives and make informed choices that are specific to your individual needs.  We are here to help you find the right solution that fits for you.

Divorce/Un-Marrying

Since the birth of the new online No-Fault divorce system in April 2022, more and more individuals and couples have opted to use the online divorce system themselves, as it is now so much more accessible to the general public.

However, the online process alone, is not sufficient to ensure that clients do not fall into legal pitfalls of divorce.  Although the online process is quite simplistic, getting the divorce is just the ‘relationship bit’.  You still need to address the financial arrangements in a legal binding way or financial claims against one another will remain beyond the divorce itself being finalised.

It is also important to know that the timing of each stage of the divorce can have an impact on more far-reaching matters, such as financial claims and inheritance issues.

We offer a full range of packages based upon the level of advice you need to support and complement the new online divorce method.

We can do a fully-advised and supported divorce for you for a Fixed Fee price of just £ 495+vat.  We understand that sometimes being able to ‘hand over’ the stress of that process and feel in a safe pair of hands just ‘feels right’.

Separation/Uncoupling

You don’t have to be married to be impacted by the legal effects of trying to un-entwine your joint lives. This is particularly true where children are involved

Whenever you have cohabited or been living with a partner, the financial issues that arise at separation can be complicated and stressful and a different area of law applies to couples who have live together but remain unmarried.

Although there are a number of ways as to how to reach a solution about what should happen on separation, it is just as important to make sure that any resolutions arrived upon, remain legally binding and protect you against future claims further down the line.  Just putting an agreement in place between yourselves is not going to do that.

At Emerald Law, we explain clearly to you the impact of how a property can be held between you and what that means for resolution, as well as addressing other important factors, such as contributions made, mortgage repayments, capital claims for any dependent children and how to best protect your position. We will then steer you through the different alternatives to help you find a form of resolution that will work for you and enable you to achieve a proper legal resolution and the protection that will offer you for the future.
